Hasn't Tallon come out and said that Florida will either be choosing the top forward or the top D, which ever falls to them?

I haven't seen those comments from him, so I can't comment either way.

I believe so but thats an obvious thing that hes gunna take the #2 guy at 2nd pick. What we dont know who the top forward is in Tallon's mind. Is it Drouin, MacKinnon, Barkov?

My mock draft 2.0 will not have Jones at #1. I stated before in my mock draft that Colorado will look to trade stasney so they have a top 6 spot for MacKinnon.

I could definately see a deal between Toronto and Colorado with the main pieces being Stasney and Gardnier. Colorado gets there top defensive prospect. Toronto gets their #1 center.

Me thinks Toronto will need another piece as Stastny has only 1 more year until UFA and his current contract sucks.

I think MacKinnon goes at one, but two is a big question mark for me. In my mind it's either Drouin or Jones.

I know other pieces would be involved. Thats why I said the main pieces would be stasney and gardnier

I have a sneaky suspicion PHI would be highly interested to move into #2 and get Jones:

Couturier + 11th + 2nd rnd?

CGY also, perhaps their top 2 #1's + 2nd rnd for #2?

I don't see Stastny as a player TOR would give Gardiner up for, especially since they can sign him next year if they wanted in all likelihood...

I believe and hope we take Drouin.
Drouin-Stamkos-St. Louis would be awesome.

I could definitely see Philadelphia trying to land Jones, but I can't imagine Couturier + 11th + 2nd being offered. It just seems like an overpayment to me. I think Zadorov might be on Philly's radar.

Re: Calgary. My feeling is that they'd love MacKinnon. They've needed a number one center....forever.

Would be absolutely incredible to see what a combo of Drouin and Stamkos could do over a long period of time , a treat for all hockey fans in general

Absolutely. We're sort of experiencing it right now with St. Louis. If the Lightning do select Drouin, the comparisons would be endless.

The draft can't get here fast enough, it's much more attractive when there is such a deep talent pool

Nobody would be able to catch them. He could also slot in next to Lecavalier and Purcell.

I think he has the potential to fall as low as 5. Mac, Drouin, Nichushkin, Barkov...in no order.

Indeed. Would be interesting if PITT deals Letang...Drouin/Mac/Nichikin would look awesome playing w/Sid or Malkin. I think PITT would most use Nichk, but that's just my opinion...the others are more skilled, but not sure they are the best fit there. Too bad NSH has D already, lol.

No, you don't even think of Stastny for Gardiner, even if it's just "the main pieces". If you're going to trade a good young player with YEARS of RFA and being Leafs property, you do it for something in a similar situation back. In other words, you target something more like Ryan O'Reilly. That would be more realistic. That said, the Avs probably won't be trading O'Reilly.

I can see the Leafs trading for Stastny, but given he's not really producing all that well, hasn't for years, has a huge ridiculous contract, and one more year to UFA, I'd say a more realistic trade would see something like Carter Ashton and a second round pick. Stastny doesn't carry much value anymore.
